Dr. Shahida Saleem : BS/MD USA, PMP
Dr. Shahida Saleem carries an experienced and strong background in Medical Health Care, Information and Communicatin Technologies (ICTs), Project Management, Software Development and Public Policy. Shahida earned her BS/MD (Combined Degree) from the Sophie Davis School of Medicine, City College of New York, USA in 1992. She was awarded her certification in PMP (Project Management Professional) by the Project Management Institute in 2006. As a seasoned and established social entrepreneur and researcher, Shahida has been involved in a number of social enterprise and corporate startups.
D.o.t.z Technologies.
Since 2006, Shahida is the Chairperson of D.o.t.z Technologies, Inc. Karachi, Pakistan where she designed the E-Sehat (electronic healthcare) software concept and in 2007 as a Joint Venture with the Acumen Fund (USA) to create the “SEHAT FIRST (Pvt. Ltd)” as a franchised health clinic utilizing telemedicine which has led towards the establishment of a National Health Network for Pakistan in 2008.
Catco International, Inc.
In 1999, Shahida founded Catco International, Inc. an Educational Software development firm leading it as its President and CEO where she initiated an Education Management Information System from its software concept to design. In 2002 the system went into the Beta Testing phase after which a year later it was presented as a National Education Database Project concept paper resulting in the establishment of regional offices and strategic affiliates in the Middle East, South America, UK and Japan within the next two years. The National Education Database project was implemented in Pakistan in 2005 and was officially endorsement by the World Bank and lateron was sold to an international Venture Capital Group.
Catco Kids, Inc.
In 2003, Shahida established Catco Kids, Inc. and led the company as its President and CEO. Catco Kids was the first corporate daycare initiative in Pakistan created in cooperation with Unilever Pakistan. In 2004 the company launched an early childhood training program proving to be the first certificate course in such a niche sector in Pakistan. By 2005, the company established another six new centers while being awarded a three year training contract with Ministry of Women’s Development, Government of Pakistan.
Catco Training Institute.
In 2006, Shahida planned and launched Catco Training Institute that has been offering a unique and first ever Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree Distance learning programs within early childhood care in Pakistan. In 2007 Shahida formulated a collaboration with ILO (International Labour Organization) for the establishment of a National Childcare program in Pakistan to support working women and thus led to the launch of Catco Kids Franchise for women owned Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) in 2007.
Catco International, Inc (Textile) New York, NY
In 1991, Shahida established Catco International, Inc (Textile) New York, NY and led the organization as a President and CEO. From 1991-1994, she created various brands including WINLAR, Patricia Leigh, Patty J and CW2. In 1994, the company acquired the William Serbin brand. In 1995 she led strategic brand positioning achieving sales of up to 90% in all US department stores including all major chains. The Catco product was named as the ""#1" selling product from all departments for the JC Penny department store chain. Shahida established strategic marketing alliances in 1998 opening up the company in the Middle East Market leadng to the company's diversification process in 1999.
