Telemedicine/eHealth Training Center

Telemedicine/eHealth course is designed to train clinicians and nurses from both tertiary care hospitals and primary care centers in the field of telemedicine and thus enabling them to develop their own telemedicine projects at their existing hospital networks. The idea is to train primary referring doctor and nurse as well as doctor and nurse responding to these referrals at the tertiary care hospital thus training staff of both ends of future telemedicine projects of each hospital network.

Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi

Holy Family Hospital was established in 1927 by the Christian mission of Philadelphia at Murree Road Rawalpindi. The hospital was shifted to the present building in 1946. It was taken over by Punjab government in 1977 and affiliated with Rawalpindi Medical College as a teaching hospital.

The Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) is an inter-governmental organization, with its Headquarters in Islamabad, Pakistan. On invitation from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, representatives from several developing countries met on 4th and 5th October 1994 in Islamabad and agreed to establish The Commission as a high level forum represented by heads of states and governments aiming at sustainable socio-economic uplift of the developing countries through appropriate applications of science and technology. COMSATS, currently, has a membership of 21 countries, spread across three continents, i.e. Asia, Africa and Latin America. A group of 17 science and technology organizations in different developing countries are also affiliated with COMSATS as a Network of Centres of Excellence.

PANACeA

PAN Asian Collaboration for Evidence-based eHealth Adoption and Application (PANACeA) is an initiative to generate evidence in the field of eHealth within the Asian context, by forming a network of researchers and research projects from developing Asian countries. PANACeA supports 9 multinational projects in which 12 Asian countries are involved to evaluate eHealth and mHealth solutions in the field and generate evidence through methodologically sound research. The evidence acquired through these projects will be scalable and generalisable to other developing countries. The results will be used to advocate policies on eHealth in Asian countries.

Heartfile is a non-profit health sector NGO think tank, which focuses on catalyzing change within the health system and broader systems of governance in order to improve health and social outcomes; the organization is recognized as a powerful and respected health policy voice within Pakistan and a unique model for replication in other developing countries.

The organization has linkages with numerous local and international organizations, as outlined under Partnerships below and receives funding support  from a number of sources; however, the main support comes from the intellectual contributions of its Founder and President.

Holy Family Hospital was established in 1948 and has been affiliated with Rawalpindi Medical College since 1977 It is a 4 bedded hospital situated in Satellite Town It has departments of Medicine Surgery Gynaecology Obstetrics Paediatrics Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology The hospital has advanced equipment installed in most of the wards The most of wards are air conditioned and excellent library exists for reference purposes The hospital is in stage of rapid expansion A brand new 4 bedded 4 story block has been added to the hospital and is now fully operational It is equipped with state of the art equipment including MRI and DSA.
